About Us:
Visiting Scholars
The Fares Center for Eastern Mediterranean Studies offers
fellowships annually to established prominent scholars and promising recent
graduates of doctoral programs whose expertise enables them to make important
contributions to the Fares Center’s teaching, research, and analysis of public
policy issues.
The scholarship is intended to sponsor primary research,
and applicants should intend to conduct advanced research in the history,
politics, or culture of one or more of the countries that comprise the region of
the modern Middle East or in cross-regional and comparative topics that place
the Middle East in a global perspective.
Grants are intended principally for scholars from outside
the United States (preferably, but not exclusively, from Eastern Mediterranean
countries) to support historical and contemporary research that will contribute
to the Fares Center’s programs.
