Speaker Biographies

Trevor McNeil (MALD 2010) is a second-year MALD student who spent the summer of 2009 working at the Lebanese Transparency Association, following an internship with the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) in Washington, D.C. Prior to Fletcher he worked as a civics teacher and democratic political activist. Trevor has a BA in International Relations from Carleton College, a certificate of theological studies from the Pacific School of Religion, and a teaching credential from San Francisco State University.

Margaret Williams (MALD 2010) is a second-year MALD student concentrating in International Negotiation and Conflict Resolution and Law and Development. Before beginning her studies at Fletcher, Margaret worked in Thessaloniki Greece as an International Teaching Fellow at the American Farm School, and in New York City as a corporate immigration paralegal. Margaret spent the summer of 2009 working in Nablus, West Bank for Tomorrow's Youth Organization, a non-profit, non-government organization/community center dedicated to serving the most disadvantaged youth and families in the Middle East.

David Wallsh (MALD 2011) is a first-year year MALD student who spent the last two years earning an M.A. in Islamic and Middle Eastern studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He also worked at various conflict resolution organizations, including Search for Common Ground, The Truman Institute for the Advancement of Peace, and the Israeli-Palestinian Center for Research and Information, where he managed a project aimed at fostering joint business ventures between Israeli and Palestinian small business owners.

Hammad Hammad (MALD 2011) is a first year MALD student who was born in Jerusalem and raised in the West Bank. He moved to California in 2001 and graduated from Georgetown University in 2008. He recently completed a Fulbright in the Netherlands contrasting conflict resolution in Europe and the United States, and this summer he interned in the White House.

Rabeh Ghadban (MALD 2011) is a Lebanese-American interested in political development in the Middle East. He spent the last two years working within Lebanese civil society to promote political development and as a freelance journalist. At Fletcher, he will be looking to broaden his scope of knowledge by focusing on International Business Relations and International Security Studies. Rabeh graduated from the University of California, San Diego in 2006 with a B.A. in International Relations.
