Students
Tufts University offers a wide range of undergraduate
and graduate level courses dealing in full or in part
with the Middle East and North Africa. Undergraduate
students may pursue an interdisciplinary
major in
Middle Eastern Studies, which complements a broad
approach to the region with opportunities for cultural
immersion. Graduate students at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy may
complete a field of study in Southwest Asia and Islamic Civilization.
The Fares Center for Eastern Mediterranean Studies
welcomes student participation in its many initiatives
and nurtures lasting connections with graduates of Tufts
University. In 2002, the Fares Center created the
Mediterranean Club, which is managed by students of The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy who harbor a particular interest in
organizing activities related to the history, politics,
culture, and society of the Eastern Mediterranean
region.
